Delaware County Fair Hiring New General Manager
The Delaware County Agriculture Society is looking to a hire a new, younger general manager that can take the famous Delaware County Fair into the future.
William Lowe, the current general manager who is now 70 years old and has been overseeing the fair for 23 years is not resigning just yet but has let the fair board know that its time to start seeking a new GM that can take on his responsibilities. Not only will the position oversee the 8 day Delaware County Fair but also oversees all other major events that go on throughout the year such as horse sales, flea markets and horse shows.
“We need somebody with some management and business skills,” Lowe said. “It would be helpful to be familiar with who we do business with, but that’s not a job-killer. The important thing is finding the right person.” “The biggest challenge that this fair faces is aging facilities and infrastructure.” Says William Lower.
