Your Guide to the 2016 Orange County Fair
The Orange County Fair or otherwise known as the OC fair is a fair that is held every year during the summer in Costa Mesa, California. It’s the 9th largest fair in the US and is held over a 23-day period.
This year’s fair will be open from July 15th to August 14th on Wednesdays to Fridays at noon to midnight, from Saturday to Sunday at 10 am to midnight and it’ll be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. On-site box office information will be on Wednesdays to Fridays from 10 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.
Main events include the Toyota summer concert series at the Pacific Amphitheatre which will be open from Wednesdays to Sundays with performances by Frankie Vallie, UB40, The Fab Four, Lindsey Stirling, Ziggy Marley, The Psychedelic Furs, among many. Fairgoers can also sample the very best in nightlife at The Hangar.
Action-packed events will be in plenty at The Action Sports Arena including motorcycle racing, demolition derbies, bull riding and so much more.
Special events during the Orange County Fair will include the Junior Livestock Auction, City Days Community Flag Salutes, The Courtyard Wine Seminars, 5K Fun Run and the 3rd Annual Craft Beer Roundup from top breweries.
There will be lots of free entertainment at the all action sports arena and great music performances by Mai Tais, Hula Girls, Bill Magee, Boxers and Briefs, The Dogs, The Road Kill Kings among many others at the Baja Blues bar and restaurant. There will also be a circus and some family comedy at the Explorium stage and at the heritage stage.
Great entertainment will also include the Al Askan track-racing pigs, kiddie tractor pull and Wild West turkey stampede. At the meadows stage, there will be great performances by the Fallen Stars, The Wimberley’s Bluegrass band, Danny Maika and Alice Wallace.
There will be free admission and parking on the opening day. Active military and veterans will receive daily free admission and reduced cost on tickets. There will also be free carnival rides to book readers and super passes to different venues.
On Wednesdays, there will be fee carnival rides and admissions. Fairgoers will also enjoy all rides for one price and on Thursdays, there will be reduced prices on fair food and free admission to children during the kids’ day.
Many more promotions, discounts and offers will be available on Fridays Saturdays and Saturday. With a bigger and better 2016 Orange County Fair, fairgoers will experience the best in great entertainment.
